Individual Therapy

Therapy is a space to slow down, feel supported, and make sense of what’s been weighing on you.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or simply looking for a place to talk things through, individual therapy offers a steady place to begin.

Our work together is collaborative and tailored to you. We’ll focus on understanding what’s happening in your life now, how your experiences have shaped you, and what you want to feel differently moving forward.

Therapy isn’t about fixing you — it’s about helping you feel more grounded, connected, and confident in yourself.

You deserve to feel heard and understood in a safe space without judgment.

Individual therapy offers space to talk things through, understand yourself more deeply, and move forward with intention. Sessions may include conversation based therapy, coping strategies, and evidence based approaches such as EMDR, depending on what feels most supportive for you.

Therapy is collaborative and flexible. We will move at a pace that feels safe while focusing on the changes that matter most to you.

 How Individual Therapy Works

We’ll start with a brief phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. This is a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a feel for how therapy might support you.

In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your history, and what you’d like support with — at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we’ll identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic. Some clients want practical coping tools, others want deeper emotional processing, and many want a blend of both.

Therapy is flexible and responsive to your needs. Ongoing sessions may focus on conversation-based therapy, skill-building, or more structured approaches such as EMDR. You always have a say in how we work together, and we will regularly check in to make sure therapy continues to feel supportive and aligned with your goals.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I have to do EMDR in therapy?
No. EMDR is always optional. Some clients prefer talk therapy only, while others find EMDR helpful at certain points in their work. We’ll decide together what feels right for you.

  • What does an EMDR session feel like?
EMDR sessions are structured but gentle. You remain present and in control throughout the process, and we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

  • Is EMDR only for trauma?
EMDR can be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, performance blocks, self-esteem issues, relationship patterns, and distressing life experiences — not just trauma.

  • How long does individual therapy last?
The length of therapy varies. Some clients come for short-term support, while others choose ongoing therapy for deeper work and personal growth.

  • Do I get to choose what type of therapy we use?
Yes. Therapy is collaborative, and your preferences matter. Some clients prefer a traditional talk therapy approach, while others choose to incorporate approaches like EMDR at certain points. We will talk together about what feels most supportive for you and adjust as therapy unfolds.

  • Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer telehealth sessions for clients located in states where I am licensed. If you prefer to meet in person, there’s an option for that too!
